The VMHILP eNewsletter - May 2017

This is a brief update on the latest VMHILN news

Office of the Chief Psychiatrist Guidelines Office of the Chief Psychiatrist Guidelines Office of the Chief Psychiatrist Guidelines :

  • Project lead is Cat Brasier – Consumer Academic

  • Work has begun on the Inpatient Leave of Absence Guideline. Guideline and Report on Inpatient Deaths 2011-2014 sent to all Network members for comment.

  • Re-write workshop conducted with North West Area Mental Health Service

  • Second re-write workshop to be conducted on the 16th June at Albury/Wodonga

Induction Day Induction day for new Network members will be held on the 15th June at the Mercure Hotel, Nth Melbourne.

  • 8 people currently registered for induction

  • 2 other people have been nominated for induction but are unable to attend

  • If there are any other members for induction please contact Jo Stubbs with their details ASAP

Funding

  • The DHHS have shown their ongoing support and commitment to the Network

  • Ongoing funding for the VMHILN project manager has been approved for 3 years

  • There is additional funding to support a consumer project officer and admin support. Positions will be advertised in the next few weeks

  • Funding is available to run Cohort 4 of the five day leadership program for services who have not yet participated

  • Wendy Davis – Senior Project Officer, Mental Health Branch System Policy and Integration will provide an update on the DHHS NDIS project

  • Paul Denborough - the Director of Clinical Services for Alfred CYMHS and Headspace will talk about his leadership journey in mental health
